How To Choose Fire Extinguishers For Different Types Of Fires

When selecting a fire extinguisher, the following regulations should be followed:

1. Water type, foam, dry powder, halothane and other fire extinguishers shall be used to fight Class A fires;

2. Dry powder, foam, haloalkane, carbon dioxide, etc. shall be used for extinguishing Class B fires, and chemical foam extinguishers shall not be used for extinguishing water-soluble Class B fires;

3. Dry powder, halogenated alkane, and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers should be used to extinguish Class C fires;

4. Haloalkane, carbon dioxide, and dry powder fire extinguishers should be used to extinguish fires caused by live equipment;

5. Dry powder and halogenated hydrocarbon fire extinguishers should be used to extinguish fires caused by Class A, B, C, and live equipment;

6. Special dry powder fire extinguishers should be used to extinguish Class D fires.
